hostname

hostname returns a string with the name of the host that this function was performed on.

Parameters:

  • none

Usage:

  • hostname()

Returns:

  • String

FQDN

fqdn returns a string with the name of the host that this function was performed on.

Parameters:

  • none

Usage:

  • fqdn()

Returns:

  • String

basename

basename extracts the trailing part of a string after the last slash or backslash.

This function if often used to extract the filename from a path.

Parameters:

  • expr — expression resulting in a String type value. All the backslashes must be escaped in the resulting value

Usage:

  • basename(expr)

Returns:

  • String
